Stephan O. Fjelstad
Stephan has been resolving disputes and advising clients in commercial and real estate matters since the mid-eighties. He brings his broad spectrum of business counseling, advocacy and litigation experience to bear on community association issues of all types. Stephan’s background, with a focused, results-oriented approach, specially equips him to handle dispute resolution, restrictive covenant interpretation and enforcement, and litigation for community associations. Stephan also spearheads the firm’s review and drafting of contracts and vendor agreements of all types—from general contractor and design professional to association management contracts—and has broad experience in leading the firm’s clients through major repair and building rehabilitation projects.
Before joining Leahy Fjelstad Peryea, Stephan was a partner and owner in a law firm focusing on general commercial and real property litigation, and business advising, with emphasis on contract drafting and disputes, community ownership and association law.
Stephan has lectured and authored articles broadly both on law-related topics and in his avocation, ancient history and archeology.
Stephan is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University, magna cum laude, completed a graduate student program at the Ludwig Maximilians Universität, München (University of Munich) Germany as a Fulbright Scholar, and took his law degree from the University of California at Davis School of Law.
